Eat great, lose weight.

That’s not only Suzanne Somers' motto, it’s the title of one of her many books that preach the Somersizing philosophy. With Eat Great, Lose Weight, dieters focus on making the proper food combinations, a running theme throughout most of her books.

Somers is no stranger to the weight-loss game. After struggling with her own issues for more than 20 years, Somers put an end to a lifetime of fluctuating by putting food combining to work for her.

She's since created her own diet concept known as Somersizing, as well as writing more than 13 books. According to suzannesomers.com, more than 3 million have tried Somersizing.

A big proponent of food combining, Somers encourages a wide variety of foods that includes meat, chicken, seafood, veggies, fruits, grains, dairy and fats. However it's how the foods are eaten that matters. Of course, like any weight-loss program, she has a list of basic rules to follow.
