Gotti Diet
Published 03/4/2006 | Low Calorie | Rating:

Any Tom, Dick or Frank can come out with a diet program… and the Gotti Diet is a perfect example of that. “Written” by Frank Gotti Agnello, grandson of the late Mafioso John Gotti, the Gotti Diet is Frank's weight-loss journey in shaping up by shedding 80 pounds. At 13, the boy was 255 pounds and suffering from high blood pressure.

With the help of his mother, physician and lacrosse coach, Frank implemented an eating regimen based on common sense, portion control and moderation. According to Frank, he researched which foods were keeping him overweight and started cutting them out of his diet. His plan, according to mom Victoria, is actually a modified version of Weight Watchers.

The Gotti Diet is a 7-step program for weight loss that includes calorie counting, motivation and fitness advice. If you're looking for diet and exercise advice from a teenager with no nutrition or fitness background, you'll find it here.

I had seen some of the Gotti shows after Frank's loss so I knew he had lost the weight and looked good. I was surprised that anyone would include his diet, but I can see where teenagers might be interested so I have decided including this diet is a good thing. You do caution admit that he has no background in nutrition or fitness which is a good thing. The fact that his mother compares it to a modified version of Weight Watchers is good also. Many dieters are familiar with the principals of Weight Watchers and so would be informed enough to decide if this is a safe, effective diet to follow.

I think it's great that a young kid would share with others what helped him to lose weight. Apparently he had his mother and doctor and lacrosse coach help out, so it's apparent that he was eating healthy and exercising. I would definitely look into it if I needed to lose weight, knowing that if he can do it, I can too.
