The afternoon snack should be a hard or soft chew snack, usually from a fruit high in sugar. For dinner, the meal should feature vegetables and proteins. The plan allows for a small consumption of whole grains, starchy vegetables, potatoes or beans on alternating days.
This “miracle” worker comes with a heavy price. There are some stern rules for following Puhn's 5-Day Miracle Diet. To name a few... You must eat within a half hour of waking up, unless exercising. Alternate between hard chew and soft chew snacks at precise times throughout the day. Lunch must be consumed before 1 p.m. and dinner should be eaten no later than 6 or 7 p.m. Space afternoon snacks no more than three hours apart. Bananas, yogurt and bagels are completely off limits. One misstep and you're back at square one.
The "loss" on the scale is largely water. The plan is extremely low in calories and lacks the nutrients essential for optimal health. Like many other weight-loss resources that promise a quick fix, the 5 Day Miracle can be hazardous to your health and would be extremely difficult to maintain over a long period of time.

Sounds pretty good to me. It equates to six mini meals, a snack being considered a meal, and easily includes more fruits and vegetables.
But please cosider allowing plain yogurt and cottage cheese in the soft group. Both work well with fresh fruit or fruit canned in light syrup; and don't forget fresh tomato!

this was actually the best diet i have ever tried...it was easy to follow although it does seem like a bit much. Its all about changing HOW you eat and not so much what you eat. It does take dedication but I've manage to keep off the lbs..and I feel sooo much better. I pass this book to all my friends and those who have the will power keep it going. As far as what you CANT eat...you start off with eliminating carbs and adding them back into your diet slowly...learn to control and not over do it! If you haven't tried it and are ready to change your life..I STRONGLY recommend this one!!

That diet plan sounds pretty much like the diet ive been on for awhile.I usually dont eat after 5 p.m. And after i eat i usually try to go for a long walk to burn some of the calories i had consumed.Besides that i just love to walk and exercise on a daily basis.

This one sounds "ify" for me. I tend to have low blood sugar at times and would benefit from several small meals a day. But eating at a certain time for each meal is a little too much. Don't think I'd like that too well. The overall review does explain the dangers and pitfalls so I give it a 4.
